I found the story and characters less interesting than the other two. Also one of the things I absolutely love about the other two was how beautifully filmed they were. This wasn't quite up to par in that department.

Keep in mind, though, I'm not saying I disliked it. I thought it was a good movie, just not as mind-blowingly good as the other two.

Just wondering, can anybody recommend me a good film about classical composers and/or classical music? Language is not a huge issue - subtitles are fine, and I speak French (so can understand a French film without subtitles). I've already seen:

Amadeus
Farinelli: Il Castrato
Mr. Holland's Opus
The Pianist
Mahler
A Song to Remember
Song Without End

Have I run out of options here?

How about The Red Violin? I've never seen it but it's supposed to be good. Plus it's Canadian.

Klaus Kinski's Paganinni - not exactly a historical document, just shows how crazy his life was

Purple Rain
Unbelievably enough I had never seen this movie until tonight. It's pretty dumb but I'm glad I finally got around to watching it.

Prince dumps her into the dumpster

there's only a lot of macho rivalry with Morris, the best part being when Prince screams "do you want me or do you want him?" during a song (forgot which one) and points at Morris
