I've heard something about this, but I thought it was just a rumor about him directing. I'd be excited if it was just one film, some real hard sci-fi, relatively free of big film studio politics. Maybe it's just me then, but I loved Matchstick Men. Very David Mamet kinda concept...which may or may not make sense.

Black Hawk Down's good fun - you should definitely try and see that sometime.

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that it'll be him directing at least one of them. It's been a while since I last read up on the prequel/s, but they certainly at least sound interesting, what with how we're probably gonna find out what the deal with that gigantic dead alien in the ship carrying all the eggs in Alien was.

Initially I'd heard it was only gonna be one prequel, so the whole thing about there being two of them's fairly new to me. The first news I read broke when the writing process was underway, so I'm presuming/hoping it's just a case of the script being two long for the one theatrical release.

I liked Matchstick Men, it's probably underrated amongst a lot of people. But I wouldn't class it as brilliant, but it was definitely entertaining.

The War genre isn't something I'm too big on, but I'll definitely get round to watching it at some point. Same with The Hurt Locker, still haven't seen that.

Superb cinematography and acting but honestly- what is the point? life will be a bastard if it all ends. No sense of genuine peril or religious allegory ( which I was expecting in this film).

Disappointing.

Isn't Hurt Lock About the Iraq War? Thus making it a War film. I dunno, I'll get round to watching it eventually. The Hurt Locked, Avtar and The Road are three modern films that I need to get round to watching.

your statement is a bit too general to mean much to me. how do they showcase their transcendental nature? "war films" is one genre that really doesn't mean much to me save the setting. i would classify most that i have seen as dramas(kinda like westerns).

Someone told me the point of this movie was simply to depress you so much you want to die. I hope that's not true...

I love depressing movies in an odd sort of way. This was just soul destroying. Told me nothing new whatsoever about things if the world turned apocalyptic.
