If you watched more comedies I think you would enjoy the genre more. I think you're just defining the whole genre by some mediocre ones that you've seen, based off of that "dramas that are also funny" bit. Comedy film has a lot to offer as a genre and even if it is bogged down by a lot of Seth MacFarlane ****.

I don't know about that. I've watched countless comedies over the years. Then - just like with horror movies - I started watching fewer and fewer, since I feel like I'm getting way more out of certain other genres on average. I deleted my IMDB profile a few years back, so I can't prove it, but I watch tonnes of movies, and I always have done so. There were thousands and thousands on my IMDB ratings list. I wouldn't exactly say I'm unfamiliar with the comedy movie genre, is what I'm getting at.
