This week is Noir class we watched Kiss Me Deadly, which is one of the strangest films I have ever seen. Very dark and cynical, but it goes in increasingly surreal directions and the ending is one of the most unnerving in cinema. Highly recommended.

Saw Whiplash twice over the weekend. Fantastic movie. You gotta suspend disbelief a bit but man, what performances from the two leads. Glad to see it won the award for editing.

I think having never attended a conservatory there is probably a semblance of truth to both parts. I'm assuming there would be a bit more tact involved in the language but the tense moments and lack of empathy would probably ring true. Seriously fantastic movie though.

Was just reading that there's well over 350 different recordings of Caravan in the public domain. The first being from 1937. I downloaded the MP3 this morning and have been listening to it over and over. Amazing song.

![]() ![]() Right in the feels with this one. I mean, not exactly but so, so, so damn close to my childhood it was kinda scary. Bias aside it's a really great, quirky, funny film and I highly recommend it. Murray's performance is great.

Ya. Kinda blows my mind how many people dislike that movie and find it boring.

Watched Foxcatcher last night. Pretty good film. I was always intrigued by the story as it was big news when I was growing up. These types of crimes were very rare at the time. Carell really has blossomed into a hell of an actor. Guys with great comedic wit always seem to transform into great drama/character actors over time.
