I agree on Bane's annoying voice, but Dark Knight Rises gets a thumb or two up from me. It was a great cinema experience, even if it didn't quite up the previous one.

They share a mutual respect then she kisses him, the end. Not that I'm saying the movie needed some kind of love interest, I'm just saying this is indicative of how poorly the character was handled in The Dark Knight Rises.
Catwoman and batman definitively wanna bang, so much sexual tension i don't know how you call it a mutual respect.

I do think it would have been cooler if Ken Watanabe had really been Ra's al Ghul, but Liam Neeson made a perfect Ducard imo, and since the two characters were merged into one by Nolan, I thought he was appropriate for the part. It's kind of interesting that you refer to the source material here though, because I thought The Dark Knight Rises handled Talia horribly. I'm surprised that doesn't bother you too.
They handled her exactly like the comics. The twist in the movie has been used countless times in the comics, and it's always kinda abrupt and dumb. Thats why i liked how they did it in the film.

As far as Bane goes: I was never really a fan of him in the comics, but I've always felt he had potential. I thought if anyone could make him an effective character it would be Nolan. I didn't feel like his portrayal in this movie was any kind of improvement over the comics. He was basically the same, but with an annoying voice.
Same? He doesn't have stupid tubes injected into him and a psudo-bdsm mask on his face.

The voice is cool.

You don't like the film janz and thats totally fine i think we've covered everything extensively at this point

Spoiler for .:
Exactly like the comics? How so? In the comics she is/was married to Batman, isn't his enemy, and is a kind of a badass. In the movie she's a random one night stand, is his enemy, and gets killed in an anti-climactic car accident. I don't really see the similarities.

She was always the daughter of raz and would betray batman cuz he wouldn't lead raz army with her.

As for the "did we watch the same movie comment" he looks nothing like this

The one detail that was the same is her being Ras' daughter. That's where the similarities end. She has divided loyalties in the comics but she's still a decent person.

I wasn't saying that it looked the same as the comics—which that image isn't actually from but that's beside the point—I was just saying it still looked like some kind of bondage mask involving tubes. I'm mean look at this BDSM erotica right here:

i LOVE Uncle Buck!

and just because

edit

personally i feel everything Janszoon has said is quite valid....but i still had a great time watching it

out of all the complaints here the one i really agree with is the treatment of the character Talia...which i agree was an epic failure

No it's not. In the comics she always chooses her fathers plan (leading raz al ghul army, destorying the world w/e) OVER batman. She's a decent person in the sense she wants to lead an army of immortal undead warriors.

So? I was comparing him to how he's looked in live action before.

The bane in DKR isn't as stereotypically bondangey man, at least its not a leather mask. You had to search to find a picture that was so erotic

he looks pretty bad ass in this jacket

Look janz i've already thrown in the towel dog. Were arguing about the eroticism of bane at this point it's our differences that make us great

Bought it last week finally even though I have watched it god knows how many times and it is still a great film and now I have to find Who's Harry Crumb? !

It's a shame that John Hughes went truly mainstream once Home Alone hit it big as he lost that streak of subversiveness that permeated a lot of his early movies.

That reminds me, I really need to buy Weird Science!
