I also have to recommend highly ANYTHING by Akira Kurosawa (Rashomon, Yume (Dreams) Akahigae (Red Beard) Ran, Ikiru are my favorites).
If you're looking for something more contemporary, try the Departed, Angels in America, The Prestige, Children of Men, Twelve Monkeys, Brazil, Fisher King, The Big Lebowski, Fight Club and Malcolm X. that's part of the long list (and it is indeed a long list)

old boy, if you don' mind watching films in another language, without sounding like one of these people who watches asian films to look alternative this is a fanastic film part of a 3 part trilogy, lady vengance was also good and sympathy for mr vengeance wasn that great but old boy was genius, my favourite film of all time.

Confidence is a must see. It's a nice smart thriller. If you are into con job movies such as The Italian Job and the Ocean's Trilogy, you'll enjoy this one.

serenity is a great movie. its so futuristic but its also very sad and action packed. a must see!

Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, for anyone who is a fan of The Gong Show, this movie explores the life of Chuck Barris and his alleged career as a CIA hitman.

No Country for Old Men.

Go see it.

Ok so I rented that movie about a week ago with a bunch of my friends........
we watched the whole movie with out talking then it ended there was a pause and then all 4 of us burst into laughter .

The movie was Visually beautiful, but other then that it was a pretty crap movie

thats because you smell.
