It's an amazing, beautiful film with a perfect soundtrack by Philip Glass. It's a little messagy, but it's perfect in every other way.

For new movies, I highly recommend "Frozen River". Saw it just a few days ago.

Here's the description from IMDB:

Takes place in the days before Christmas near a little-known border crossing on the Mohawk reservation between New York State and Quebec. Here, the lure of fast money from smuggling presents a daily challenge to single moms who would otherwise be earning minimum wage. Two women - one white, one Mohawk, both single mothers faced with desperate circumstances - are drawn into the world of border smuggling across the frozen water of the St. Lawrence River. Ray and Lila... and the New York State Trooper who ultimately brings the two to justice.

If you're into independent films, this is one to see.

i just searched "movies" so i didn't have to create a new thread, but i'm just about finished watching Cloud Atlas. admittedly, i've only been half watching it and doing other things at the same time. nonetheless, i'm curious as to peoples' thoughts on it. so if you have some please share.

aside from that, it seems like it's worth the watch either way. so, i'll go ahead and make this post relevant by recommending it.

Pretty decent list there EXO, mine would look very similar.

So I rewatched THE WILD PARROTS OF TELEGRAGH HILL again last night. I balled my eyes out all over again, when his best friend and parrot bites the bullet. Its the story of a homeless man that is taken in by a lady that has an old loft in the Frisco area. He immediately befriends all of the parrots in the area and starts to caretake for the wounded and older ones. Its a very inspiring story of not only what humans can do for one another in need but also, people who still do the right thing with regard to animals. Total gut check everytime I watch it and an inspiring true story.

If you haven't seen Network (1976) I would highly recommend that. It's the movie with the line "I'm mad as hell and not going to take it anymore" but it also has one of my all-time favorite scripts.

Chinatown (1974) is also a great '70's drama and one of the earliest examples of neo-noir.
