NiGHTS would have been a great 3rd party char. too bad the remake paled to the original (or maybe the original just seemed WAY more awesome than it was because i was tripping balls on mushrooms the only time i really tried it hehe)

i'm hoping the inclusion of Pit is indication of a new kid icarus. i'd be totally happy with a metroid prime-esque romp through mythological greece in a hunt to kill the medusa.

as for the mario kart thing, the N64 one was my favourite.

Well they haven't made a new Ice Climbers game since Melee, so I wouldn't give my hopes up.

yeah but ice climbers was hardly a cult classic, nor did it offer a distinct style and story.

Ice Climbers may not be on par with the best NES games, but I've had a lot of fun with it, those later stages are damn hard. Its especially a fun multiplayer game.

Kid Icarus is an amazing game, but god it took forever to get through that first stage the first time I played it. It sure ain't an easy game. Good thing it has a lot of awesome power ups though.

But yeah. I think they should have added Balloon Fighter as a playable character, Balloon Fight being one of my favorite NES games.

Later on I'l probably make a list of concepts (characters, stages, items) I would like to see in a future Smash game.

the balloon fighters would have been cool but i think people would have confused them with the ice climbers.

i had the same issue with that first kid icarus level too. i kept falling off. it's a lot easier now than it was back then hehe. then again you're supposed to be climbing out of hades in that first stage so it wasn't exactly supposed to be easy hehe.
