Anyway, my thoughts on some possible third party characters.
Sonic: Heres why I think the odds for Sonic are good, when Sonic first rose to stardom in the early 90s and became Marios first true rival, no one ever imagined that the two would one day join forces, because of how brutal the competition between Nintendo and Sega was at the time. But times have changed, Sega have become third party developers, Nintendo and Sega buried the hatchet and now almost every Sonic game is available on a Nintendo platform. Since SA2B was the first Sonic game to go Nintendo, fans have been begging for a Mario/Sonic crossover, and now they are getting it with Mario & Sonic at the Ollympic Games. Now some guys may say "well that probably means Sonic wont be in Brawl" but I beg to differ, quite the opposite really. For one Nintendo didn't plan on this game, and its Sega that is developing it, originally it was gonna be just a Sonic game. But after obtaining the license for the Beijing 2008 from the International Olympic Committee, they were told that they should try and expand the game for a wider audience. So it was Sega who asked Nintendo for the rights to Mario and his friends. So........ Nintendo lets Sega use Mario. Sega lets Nintendo use Sonic. Equivalent exchange Tails: If Nintendo were to add one extra Sonic character, Tails would be the obvious choice. It would be yet another dream match in the making. Tails vs Luigi. Battle of the pussy sidekicks. Bomberman: Since Hudson Soft are the guys whoring out every Mario Party game, it would make since for Nintendo to pay them back by including their mascot in Brawl. It would also be cool to see Bomberman and Wario duke it out for a second time. Mega Man: Ok, I'd actually be surprised if Mega Man were to appear in a Smash Bros game, I know how stingy Capcom can be when it comes to licenses. But still, they OWE Nintendo Mega Man, after all Mega Man got his start on the NES. Zero: Ok, maybe not in Brawl, but perhaps a future Smash Bros game. Zero is the second most popular Mega Man character, and his own Mega Man Zero series was pretty popular and was exclusive to the Game Boy Advance. Geno: For those who don't know who Geno is, he is a character from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Sounds like an incredibly obscure choice, but believe it or not he is one of the most requested characters for Brawl, and got a lot of votes in Sakurais character poll from over a year ago. Only thing is asking Square Enix for rights, and since they made the character for a Mario game, what reason would they have to say no? NiGHTs: An obscure choice, for sure, but then again so is Lucas, so were the Ice Climbers. Theres a NiGHTs game exclusively for the Wii thats coming out in December, so it would make sense for both Sega and Nintendo to promote it by having NiGHTs in a game like Brawl. Rayman: There have been rumors of Ubisoft making some sort of collaboration with Nintendo on Brawl circulating for some time. And of course the Rayman Raving Rabbids series is very popular now, and theres a sequel coming up. Klonoa: Namco and Nintendo have been BFF for quite some time, in fact this wouldn't be the first crossover they have done. Pac Man and Mrs. Pac Man were playable characters in Mario Kart Arcade GP and Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, and Link was a playable character in the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur II. So why wouldn't Namco offer a character for Nintendos flagship fighting game series since thats what Nintendo did for their flagship fighting series? Now if any Namco character would be an obvious choice it would be Pac Man, but theres hardly anything Pac Man could do in a fighting game since the only thing he does is eat little white pellets and blue ghosts. Klonoa would make more sense in a fighting game, even though he may not be anywhere as big of a household name and he hasn't had a game in years, he has quite a cult following, and he has 3 games exclusive to the GBA, so there you go. Simon Belmont: Since Konami offered up Snake, maybe we'll get Belmont as well. Chrono: C'mon, how badass would that be? Last edited by boo boo; 10-02-2007 at 03:38 PM. |

i'm so excited for this game. it's the only game that I actually pwn at, especially the original N64 version. there's only one kid who can kick my ass at it, but he's went to State this year so I don't have to worry about him anymore.
This game is probably the sole reason I got a wii.
