Yeah, she was 'Marvel Girl' (of all the names they could've chosen) at the time ('86). I think even in the comic most of the writers had the other characters just call her 'Jean'

I think the big thing when the first X-Factor title came out was that X-Men had become so convoluted that people "demanded" (as you can see on the cover) the original X-Men team to be re-united. So, she was Marvel Girl back in the first days of X-Men and they wanted as much of the original stuff in there as possible. The outfits are pretty bad because they were going for nostalgia and these were sort of like the original X-Men costumes.

cant wait for the american version aparently its going to run in the english tv - which is going to be good just in case cheryl is gonna become a judge or a sidekick - im just glad im going to be able to see her over in america - english fans starting to miss her a bit
