No, the comma was neccessary. Whenever you connect two independent clauses you must use a comma and a conjuction.

The comma is unnecessary because of "OR"; or is a conjunction and therefore does not need the comma to separate the two clauses. You're wrong. I'm going to go with what my friend, an AP english student told me and my own education has taught me as opposed to the word of a 15 year old Coldplay fan.

1. The comma is not unneccessary. More appropriate would be a semi-colon. Commas indicate a weaker break in the two clauses. Simply leaving out a comma and joining the two clauses with a cordinating conjuction is incorrect. You must have either a comma, or, ideally, a semi-colon.

2. I could give a fuck what your AP English friend says. My AP English teacher, as well as any grammar book would agree that you need at least a comma, ideally a semi-colon, for the sentence to be correct.

3. I am not 15; I believe you are however. You don't act it though.

4. How is Coldplay at all relevant to this? And I'm missing how I've been morphed into a Coldplay fan all the sudden. In almost 2 years of having last.fm, I have 187 Coldplay listens. Most of these were just run-overs from when Circle Takes the Square was finished playing.

Wrong, the comma in your sentence wasn't even necessary in the first place. There is no AP english at your school either. Theres an AP bio, stats, world history, us history and one other thing he can't remember but hes sure isn't AP english. See Alex, when you lie you really should think about what you're lying about, if its something about school remember you invited several people to this site who go to your school and its not that hard to drop one a message.

My honors English teacher, has been teaching AP English for 29 years.
Had I said that my 'AP Course' would agree you are wrong', I would have been lying. But saying that MY teacher, who is in fact a 29-year AP certified English teacher, and therefore an AP English teacher, would agree you are wrong, isn't a lie, just very decieving. Once again, it's that tricky English language which you cannot seem to understand.

EDIT: Robocop? The first one was amazing, the second one was pretty good, the third one was a horrible piece of crap.

Wrong, she taught AP but is an honors teacher. It doesn't even matter in the current state of affairs, she is an honors teacher to you. You should really stop (i'm going to, since this is finally getting on topic and frankly i'm tired of arguing with you.) theres two people both online I could keep quizzing about this.

Anyway, popisdead pointed something out to me that is criminal. Wheres the Evil Dead trilogy =(!
