Mister batlord, can you possibly recommend any wholesome 1990s/early 2000s anime series about magical witch girls? I began one last year but I cannot recall the name, or the entire plot for the life of me.
And have you ever seen Belladonna of Sadness? I've been trying to hunt it down to no avail; will just have to buy the dvd I suppose. |

If you've ever wondered how it would look if the makers of Evangelion made a short film that pitted a Playboy bunny against Darth Vader and a Xenomorph with ELO playing, then this is what you've been waiting for.

Top 10 Witch Anime List [Best Recommendations] |
Well, pretty much all Japanese female voice actors speak in at least a higher pitched voice than seems normal to Westerners. I don't know if this is true to Japanese women or just an anime thing, but there aren't any deep-voiced women in Madoka Magica. And I mention the Japanese voice cast because I would not watch the show dubbed, as American voice acting in girl animes is just embarrassing since they try to emulate "cute girl" voices and it's just awkward.
I'll also say that the clip I posted wasn't even half as weird as many of the visuals in the anime, it's just the best I could find from as far into the show as I currently am. There's **** in there that is just plain ****ing odd. Like the animated representation of magazine collages odd. |
Oh, no I was more referring to the ones (non-dubbed ones too) where the female characters are constantly falling and going "EEUUWAAHHH!!!" and rarely speaking in full coherent sentences, is all. (Though I realize that those aren't necessarily the majority. But I like any of the odd & whimsical/cerebral 80s, 90s and very early 2000s anime series overall based on what I've seen)
edit: thanks, djchameleon; I'll have a look at the list. |
