IMO The best anime ever is Fooly Cooly (FLCL) I love that show so much because of how random it is and because I really find myself similar to Naota and I like how he seems to be the only "grown up" in the show even though he's 12 (If I remember correctly) The show is just beyond awesome and it's really funny.

yeah, FLCL is a classic. i've got the soundtrack (which is awesome, btw). alot of people don't realize the whole "coming of age" theme it has

but yeah, on the manga side of things, been reading Monster lately. it's from the same creator of 20th Century Boys, basically about this brain surgeon who saves this child that in turn grows up and becomes a serial killer. pretty interesting stuff, but it's full of plotholes and some parts are a bit slow/predictable. other than that, a pretty good read.

Someone today was telling me about Monster. It intrigued me enough to give it a look and all preliminary findings show that it's something I would enjoy.

Last night I finally got around to watching Cowboy Bebop after having it on my hard drive for nearly a year. I cannot believe I waited this long to watch it! It's one of the most unique anime series' I've ever seen. The writing is great, the style is amazing for 12 years ago, and the music is where the show is at. It's so different from all the other anime shows I've seen. It's very western influenced, which is sometimes a relief, especially for someone like me who only dabbles in anime.

hahaha about damn time you watched Bebop! XD

but yeah, it's really the one show where sub purists and the like will say the dub is better than, which is a good plus. i'm not a sub purist, but it's awesome to hear them admit it.

but yeah, if you enjoy Monster, definitely check out 20th Century Boys, it's pretty much the same creator's most famous work, and so far from reading Monster, i will say 20th CB has alot better plot twists and more memorable characters

FLCL used to be my favorite anime. A lot of hidden meaning in that anime and a ton of Inuendo's. I always used to feel kind of jealous of Naota and the life he was living. Full of excitement meeting aliens FBI agents who's telling him this lady is no good his older brothers gf teasing him all the time just pure randomness. It's a shame it's only 7 episodes though, but looking back on it I have no idea how they could hold up to 26 the plot was just all over the place and it takes a **** ton of analyzing to get the jist of what's going on. Trust me there is a plot it's real obscured though and it's hard to focus on when so much crap is going on.

My favorite anime would have to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. Apocalyptic world resting in the hands of teenagers defeating aliens and stopping 3rd impact from occuring. Dealing with there own ego's and subconsciouses, interactions with individuals, depression very trippy especially the movie End of Evangelion which is an alternate ending of episodes 25 & 26

just watched a few episodes of Gantz. so far i'm intrigued in why these guys are doing this "game" thing, but the action, pacing, animation and music goes from meh to frustrating and the characters aren't particularly too likable. at least not yet.

eh, i'll probably watch more of it but idk if i'd recommend it to anyone right now.

I'm of the opinion that the Gantz manga is better. And there are quite a few other great manga doing the "game" battle thing as well like Battle Royale and Liar Game, albeit nothing supernatural.

Default Big Anime fan here

I wish there was a UK channel dedicated to anime series/movies at least I get to watch loads online, for me it is the best form of media the world
today and I rarely bother with new Hollywood films. Here are some favourites let me know if you've anymore to recommend.

Hitman Reborn

Trigun

Cowboy Bebop

Star Ocean

Rouri Kenshin

Naruto

Greyman

Dai-Guard

Bubblegum Crisis 2040

You can watch alot of these on Youtube and most are dubbed english but they are better to watch with the subtitles.

Watch the Slayers series

I like it.

The other night I tried to watch Project A-ko but I was just too tired and ended up falling asleep on it but I will re-watch it this weekend.

I have a VHS copy of it.
