the problem i really have with ichigo is that even tho he trains, he never actually SEEMS to get stronger. i'm definately over the "i have resolve now" and then his ass getting pounded into the ground. and right now there are just a bunch of pointless battles going on. i only read it sporadically because i get bored. and to be hoenst i prefer manga because its much less dramatized. lets just agree to disagree. i never get anywhere with anyone in these arguments |

However I think the reason they pull crap like that is so they keep the Anime from catching up with where the Manga's at right now, since everytime they do they have to do filler arcs to make the time. |

eh....i couldnt connect with most of the characters
and the soul society arc was awesome. its AFTER that that i hated it. it just went downhill so fast after soul society that i got over the whole thing the nice thing about DBZ was that there WERE no filler arcs. i hate those. they annoy me. the whole bount thing got really really lame really fast. |

No filler arcs...just an entire season of Freeza and Goku staring at each other.
Edit: Y'all were talking about the manga huh...not the anime. sorry.

DBZ has a horrible habit of dragging things out forever, Bleach is just starting to do this, but DBZ has pretty much always done it. Sure it's just another method to keep a fair distance between the manga, but I'd much rather have filler episodes of characters making pastries (yes, Bleach has actually done this) than 30 minute staring contests. |

i actually watched everything up until after the bount arc i believe.
i dont mind filler episodes. but filler arcs? i hated that. DBZ actually did have a filler arc too, but it was actually a decent arc. it was the whole fighting dead people thingy. |

You should know that The Bount Arc isn't from the actual manga, hence it's lack of quality compared to the rest of the show.

of course i know that. but after the bount arc i watched a bit more and just got over it. it just got boring. and like i said before, the manga has gone really downhill. I think the biggest problem is that the whole manga has tied into the current plot, and the author is simply writing one chapter at a time and not planning much out. The reason DBZ worked out (in the manga) is because whether or not the author planned everything about the series out, he planned well enough into the future that he could write a very well developed arc following the past one. It just seems to me that the whole Hueco Mundo arc has been floundering rather terribly. The manga is being dragged out at DBZ anime pace. thats also probably the reason they have so much filler in the Bleach anime.
btw the reason i've been comparing it to DBZ is because DBZ is basically the ultimate shonen manga/anime. But i can say the same thing for Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin. I just feel like Tite Kubo is biting off more than he can chew plotwise. he's trying to make it more complicated and to me it seems like he's having trouble. |

I never said Bleach was without it's flaws, but I love the anime enough to forgive them.
I do like the HM arc, but I do agree that it's been dragging on and it's very similar to the SS arc in structure, with Orihime taking Rukia's role and the Espada taking the Soul Reaper captains'. It's not as good as the SS arc or Arrancar arc, but I'm enjoying it and I know things are gonna get better with the next arc, I think Kubo is using the current arc to make time, but still, I think the newer characters like Ulquiorra, Grimmjow and Nel, as well as Aizen keep it interesting. Also, while you may be right that Kubo dosen't have it all planned out, I wouldn't say he's making it all up as he goes either. Artwork for Shinji appeared in the first issue of the Bleach manga, so he at least already came up with the idea for the Vizard when he first started the manga. And yeah, I just started reading the manga. EDIT: Just watched the last Bleach ep, the Kenpachi-Nnoitra fight is getting interesting. |
