The philosophy is shallow because it is merely a skeleton. The main thing she tried to get across were her ethics of rational egoism. The thing is, one could apply existentialism to her philosophy to give it more depth. I think her ethics and such work if one looks at things the right way. The point of her philosophy was to put the pursuit of one's own happiness above all else. In other words she believes that one should hold one's own happiness over the pursuit of "truths." Her philosophy was shallow because she did not necessarily have the desire to go into all of those details.

For what she tried to accomplish, to defend capitalism from a moral standpoint, she did it better than anyone.

Also I am reading Atlas Shrugged, Julius Caesar, and hopefully Frankenstein. I don't own Frankenstein, but I have to read it for school. I am trying to get through all of Shakespeare's plays this summer though. I love Shakespeare and it would be great to know all of his plays. Plus, I can read them online for free.
