One conclusion we both agree on, Big3: "Don't get the appeal." That was also my reaction to that other must-read book of the 60s with a number in its title: Catch-22. _______________________________ I'm probably enjoying this book because it confirms what I previously thought: how spurious conspiracy theories usually are. Voodoo Histories begins with the First World War, which makes a bit of a dull start to the book, but it picks up as it advances through McCarthyism to JFK and the section I've just reached: the death of Lady Di. Interesting statistic: there are "700 or so biographies of Marylin Monroe". And for us lot? Will any of us get even a single biography? I feel so depressed, I'm going to play The Staunton Lick to cheer myself up - or better still, every song so far in this thread:- https://www.musicbanter.com/general-...teful-day.html ("songs to make you grateful for the day")
