Nescio! His complete work fits in one thin little book but it's fantastic. I don't know if it's been translated, he had a wonderfully peculiar way of writing that wouldn't translate well. His stories are mostly about idealistic dreamers and eccentrics adapting to average adult life and getting office jobs etc. (or, in case they don't adapt, getting destroyed by it). They're told with great humour and feeling and there are wonderful descriptions of landscapes, nature, and train rides. Other favorites:
Gerard Reve (especially the books composed of letters)
Willem Frederik Hermans (one of the obvious dutch greats)
Louis Couperus (another great one, from the end 19th century his book de Stille Kracht is a very interesting take on the Dutch colony in Indonesia)
Louis Paul Boon (is actually Flemish but whatever)
I mostly read English books though, there's much more great stuff there

Still not always on the same page with him when it comes to his ideas about
the lack of difference between composition and improvisation - his confusing
the thing with the event - and I've mentioned this to him, but he's always an
interesting read even tho this is (blissfully) short.
