Just finished reading '11/22/63' by Stephen King.

I have to say, this book was freakin awesome. One of King's best. It's about a teacher who's dying friend tells him about a portal he discovered in the stockroom of his pantry. The portal takes you back to the year 1958 each time. You can stay as long as you wish, but when you return to the present, only 2 minutes have passed from the time you left. Any changes made to the past are in effect when you return, though if you go back into the past again, those changes reset unless you make them again.

The teacher's dying friend tells him his wish was to stay in the past until 11/22/63, the day Kennedy was assassinated, and change history. The teacher finally agrees and goes back in time, planning to live in the past for 5 years, until the fateful day.

I highly recommend this to anyone, regardless of your reading preferences.
