Not sure if I'd have any novels I could recommend, but I can give you a variety of interesting psychological subjects you've probably never heard of that are dead easy to understand and read up on if you want.

Anyway, I finished reading Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell today. It didn't affect my opinion seeing as I agreed with it anyway, but it was an enjoyable read and offered some real political insight.
