Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell
Just finished this. I've read several books by this guy and I'd definitely say he's one of my favorite authors. This book didn't disappoint. Like all his books it's harsh and gritty and dark, though I'd say it actually has a few more positive parts to it than anything else I've read by him. Great stuff. Now I'm looking forward to checking out the movie.
