I guess, but they also don't have a concept of where the body ends, and they lose their inner voice completely.

My brilliant friend - Elena Ferrante It was probably incredibly difficult to translate as she was apparently switching between standard Italian and the Neapolitan dialect, so the writing seems a little clunky at times, but obviously due to the language difference. Quite engaging so far.

Some alchemy book, a couple books and a thesis about some of the kookier medieval female saints/nuns (the compulsive self-mutilation/mortification, anorexia, and general theatrics have always fascinated me), a book about Lucifer called Lucifer Princeps, and Aramaic English New Testament by Andrew Gabriel Roth (mostly I just skim and read the annotations) and also a book about gothic cathedral architecture + the medieval concept of order but I may have mentioned that one already recently.

Oh, to read, I miss it dearly.
The last book I attempted I think I talked about already so here's the deal. I'll make up a book and y'all should all pretend like it sucks. Actually one time to I reid tried to write a sequel to to to kill a mockingbird called to kill a scout but I got burnt out during the drafting process for ideas

The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson 20 million die in India during a harrowing wet bulb heat wave and the world responds with ecoterrorism and the titular global climate organization while the usual suspects remain indifferent. It straddles an interesting place between fiction and nonfiction, using accounts from different perspectives to propel the story while going into some thoroughly researched ecological, economic, psychological, and scientific concepts. This does lead to some pretty flat characters but the thought-provoking climate change solutions and unique approach make up for that in spades. The chapters are also super short, so the predictable character arcs don't overstay their welcome. There's a bit of a lull in the middle as he sets the foreground for some of the economic policies, but otherwise this was pretty engaging. Spoiler for spoilers:
