^nice
I'm reading Sally Rooney's Normal People and it's opening up a cesspool of old emotions from my teenage years. I'm surprised

It's fascinating. People don't realize what kind of life your body takes on after the mind dies. It goes for a RIDE if you decide to donate your vessel to science. My favorite part so far is learning about the early stages of modern medicine. You don't appreciate surgery until you realize how little doctors got to practice early on. They still don't get much live practice now but in the 1800's it was not easy.

I've read that and her book on going to Mars. Both excellent and hilarious.

Ficciones by Jorge Luis Borges I didn't know you were allowed to do that! Mindblowing, weblike short stories that give you a lot to chew on. Absolute masterworks of form and language.

Is The Library of Babel in there because that’s one of the best stories I’ve ever read

Sure is. I skipped to that one and started with it because of the rep and it lives up to it. The rest of the collection is just as strong, I can't wrap my head around how Borges pulls off his approach to worldbuilding.
Also the deeper I get into it, the more I realize that this should be a prerequisite for House of Leaves.
