I read that this summer for Sewanee, if you like philosophical books aka is life worth it, meaning of it all, ect., it is worth it. I would be extremely surprised if The Fall did not get their name from that book, it could be a reference to the bible though.

Yes it is , but it wasn`t Mark E Smith that came up with it. It was their original bass player Tony Friel that came up with it. He wanted to use another Camus novel 'The Outsiders' as the bands name but it was already being used by another band so he used 'The Fall'.
