Seldom mentioned in popular contemporary lit discussions Porter's short fiction was very good - Pale Horse, Rider makes for a good intro (covers the pandemic of 1918) if you've not read her novel, Ship of Fools.

Both extremely great books, but I am pumped to read with a sober mind this time

Read The Turner Diaries. It's really inspiring with a positive message.

I see you're already more corrupted than I thought.

I loved it. It’s a blast. **** anyone telling me what I should and shouldn’t read.

Still haven't read it tbh but it sounds like a hoot even if it's poorly written from what I've heard. Is Siege worth reading too?

It sounds good. Like it abandons the idea of a right wing death squad coming together to triumph over liberalism and just says all you can do is become a right wing death cult lone wolf martyr. Apparently it has a pretty big following cause it predicted modern stochastic right wing terrorism and is currently more relevant than The Turner Diaries.

I haven't read it either, but I am familiar with Timothy McVeigh.

So the fact that the book inspired real life action makes you NOT interested in reading it? I mean doesn’t literature transcend what you agree with? That fact that it inspired action, whether disagreeable or not, is proof of the power of his words.
