Read The Kite Runner by the Afghan author Khaled Hosseini.
A must read and the best book I've read in years.

I believe there's a film...anyone seen it?

Cheers Lee. :)

Apparently it's faithful to the book. In which case, I may go out and buy it tomorrow.

I'm currently reading right-tracks's signature and getting the impression that it was inspired by a confrontation with his father in law....

That book was amazing. Have you read A Thousand Splendid Suns?

right-track 08-28-2008 01:29 AM

Not yet, but it's on the get list.
I'm aware it exists, but don't know what it's about...any good?
And have you seen the film (Kite Runner)?

The connotations of that statement offends me.

That word is too big for me this early in the morning.

I haven't seen the movie ( I plan to, soon). I also haven't read A Thousand Splendid Suns. I was just asking because I was curious if the book was anywhere near as good as The Kite Runner

Quick search and got this;

"Just in case you're wondering whether Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns is as good as The Kite Runner, here's the answer: No. It's better."
