I'd suggest Miracleman just to melt your mind at what a comic book can be.

Spoiler for big ass pic:

Oh damn I might be able to get TWO people into Miracleman in the same week. I've been flying this flag for years now but nobody has paid attention.

Anyone who likes historical fiction should give this a try:

Set in medieval Japan and with one of the most unexpected twist endings in any mystery/suspense novel, this is one of my favorites. I haven't really been reading much lately apart from comics, but once I get in the mood I'm probably going to restart reading Black Arrow which is another Akitada novel.

You've read Miracleman right?

Speaking of pseudo-historical fiction, I'd like to recommend The Witch of Blackbird Pond.

Which reminds me: I was thinking of getting that original Alan Moore book you have been mentioning before, but I'm not sure what to look for. Been browsing amazon.co.uk but didn't find one that seemed like the right book. I want a collected volume with all the right parts in one place. There's a lot of Miracleman, so I'm lost. I actually thought it was a one off thing.
