If a self help book helps motivate someone than it isnt bad doofus. Different things motivate different people.

You used the phrase "driven automatically". What does it mean?

and driven automatically, because my sister somehow went straight through college in four years, then to two grad schools right after.. no self help books. she had her own school books.

Maybe you should become your sister's manservant because you're clearly not on her level. You know, bring her drinks, change her sheets, burp her children. I mean if you need self help books to do what other people do without them then maybe you're no better than a vacuum pusher or something. I'm sure your sister would agree.

You should read How to Make Friends and Influence People. I can't think of a better guide on how to be a desperate hack of a salesman. I'm sure Ole Gil from the Simpsons has at least 3 copies.

I would really like to talk to people who have read this book.
I have been aware of its existence for about 12 years now, but have never met anyone who is aware of it or its content. Pretty cool to see it here.

Having just finished The Aeneid (a first-time read), it's time to go back to an old favorite, so yesterday I started Jane Eyre.
