Being Mortal - Atul Gawande

I suggest if you like Nonfiction and in-your-face slice of life creepiness (Sense of Doom impending)

Took advantage of the spring weather and dropped by my favorite used bookshop today. SO glad I did!

Finally got a copy of Edward Bernay's monumentally influential PROPOGANDA (1928). I was surprised to learn that the text saw no additional publication until 2005. But no other book has had a greater influence on the industrial-state's control of modern society.

Also snagged a copy of Ben Bagdikian's The Media Monopoly (Sixth Ed.) - a critical analysis of telecommunications cartels which control our access to information.

Reading this for the umpteenth time. So simple to read. So difficult to put into practice.

I'm currently reading my husband's face for signs of whether his insufferably pissy mood has finally shifted... Does that count?
