so at that i finished Happy Mutant Baby Pills a few days ago....and i have to say i would not call it a waste of time but i would not call it revolutionary either....defiantly a wonderful example of modern transgressive literature

i hate to say it....but not a book for everyone....as in i could not see my mother or sister enjoying this book....especial the latter half of it and anything involving Round Up!

just due to the over the top substance abuse i certainly had an idea of what would happen at the end but was surprised with what ultimately happened to Nora....and i loved Lloyd's "junkie" deception

Miss Donner.....please tell me you have read Geek Love by Katherine Dunn.....if you haven't i highly suggest it....and i'm sure it will seep it's way into your brain at some point.....

When I reviewed it I believe I called it "bizarre just for the sake of being bizarre" but the more I reflect on it the more I realize that I did ultimately enjoy it for its eccentricities. I gave it 2/5 stars and certainly wouldn't put it on my recommendations shelf at the bookstore, but I'm glad to have read it if only for the novelty of the experience.

I haven't read Geek Love but you're not the first person to suggest I do, so I'll move that to the top of my list.

Finished Dubliners, still on a Joyce kick but the beginning of Portrait was not enticing me, so I moved for this. Really digging it, but after knocking out a chapter or two i always have to take a month off.

Also reading Wordsworth and other Romantics for class. Bout to be on Pride and Prejudice, which i hear will be fun.

Just finished. A worthy read, but it can't top Great Expectations, IMHO.
