Apparently this is a meme, another blogger tagged me. Now I have to tag you bastards. Fits the bill for this thread though...

1, Pick up the nearest book.
2, Open to page 123.
3, Find the fifth sentence.
4, Post the next three sentences.
5, Tag a few people.

Oh god that's too good to pass up

"In some weird quantum way, the cat is alive and dead at the same time.
The Schrodinger's Cat paradox has inspired much confusion. Stephen Hawking got so tired of this paradox that he would often say (in paraphrase of Joseph Goebbels), 'Whenever I hear the words 'Schrodinger's cat,' I reach for my gun.'"

from the other book I'm reading:

"Weishaupt's 'illumination' & Voltaire's 'enlightenment': from the Latin 'lux' meaning light. Christianity all in 3s (Trinity, etc.) Buddhism in 4s. Illuminism in 5s."

I'm currently reading Heart of Darkness and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both for the first time.

Also starting Essential Chomsky, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, and the Mammoth Book of Cover-Ups.

Just finished reading this:

The singer from Eels tells his story. He's had the most f*cked up, often tragic and always very interesting life, but its inspiring that throughout he's just kept going, life has its ups and downs.
Highly recommended.
