Date? Please. She's a cheap **** who'll take it from behind with a snap of my fingers.

I love reading, but have hated discussing books of late. It is probably the people I work with, but their reading of any book tends to be taking the narrative at face value without any consideration for the characters.

When I was reading Fahrenheit 451 and everyone at work said simply that book banning was bad as the deepest thought incited by the work, I was saddened.

It wasn't the books; it was the thought that was banned. I thought that was straightforward and mentioned straight out numerous times in the text.

I know, to each his own and all of that. It just feels so lonely and so very...Fahrenheit 451.

Reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair right now, and thoroughly enjoying it. Finished Franny and Zooey by Salinger and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston earlier this week, and enjoyed both.

Don't bother! It's full of rubbish & just reminds you of how ridiculously expensive weddings are.

A friend of mines wants to start up a business where she can make weddings be more affordable for people that want them but can't afford to spend so much on them.

Really?! I like that idea. How do they plan on running it? Because in the end, it's the individual suppliers that kill you. Venue = expensive. Catering = expensive. Photographer = expensive. Cake = expensive. Dress = expensive. Celebrant = expensive. Rings = expensive. Cars = expensive. So unless they plan on doing everything for cheap, I don't know how to get around the fact that most people will charge and arm and a leg for anything wedding-related!

I guess what makes weddings so expensive is that you have so much to buy/pay for all at once.

that's the thing she's going to do hunting to be able to find more discounted places to get those things from so it's not as expensive. Or she might be able to work with certain suppliers and let them know what she is doing and she will get special discounts from them because they know about what she's doing by trying to help out the unfortunates get married. So they will get name recognition and she will constantly send them traffic through her clients. It could work that way.

Yeah definitely! I think if you could start a business where you work with different suppliers you could possibly be onto something. I've tried my hardest doing discount everything but it's still bloody expensive Even for a cheapo like me.

Last night I turned off all the lights and read "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" with only a flashlight. I guess it was a fluorescent (spelled it right on the first try!) flashlight cause the light was all dull and cold and white. Spooky.
