And no, I'm not big on Winnie the Pooh but it was really well done, so whatever eh?

The Te of Piglet wasn't as engrossing as Tao of Pooh, but still well written. They are excellent books.

Just started:

This is a book I think I could read in a single sitting. Not an insult to it.

Just finished The Hunger Games at the insistence of my mother, sisters, father, and a friend who teaches middle school English.

It was all right. I couldn't have cared less about the love story / love triangle bit, because I tend not to give a **** at all about angsty teen romance, but the premise was interesting. It did make me cry once - for those of you who've read it, you'll probably know what I'm talking about when I say I cried when Katniss received the bread - but ultimately it was just okay.

Better writing than most young adult novels. I liked that the protagonists were Appalachian, I guess. I loved Cinna for some reason.

That's about it. If you're interested, it isn't a long read at all; took me around 5 or 6 hours.

just finished

i have got to say.....this may be one of the greatest books i have ever read.....i don't think i could say enough good things about.....Eggers writing style is wonderful and exciting and humorous and heart wrenching all at the exact same time......i love the chapter of his audition for the real world San Francisco.....it was by far my dream at that time in my life to make on that show and tell MY story and to hear someone basically describing what i would have done just brought tears of joy to my eyes...this book really invoked thoughts and feeling and memories i've not had in some time now......that alone makes it amazing

i think anybody in their 30s should have to read this....

so i'm waiting for this to come in the mail.....

in the interim i'm reading "White Fang" by Jack London (one of my favorites )

What counts most when you're reflecting on how good a book is? How you felt while you were reading it, or what it looks like in hindsight with the ending in mind?

I think that one's the most underrated of the 4, and it introduces an faction I think we'll see later on down the line (I won't say what I think it is, I want to see if you see it as well). It is a bit of a shame how so many characters from the 3rd book are absent from this one (it also makes some of the characters introduced in the 3rd book hard to keep track of in the 5th), but one character you'll come to love is Jaime. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

^ Book one is waiting on the shelf at the moment :P

A month or two later, and I'm finally starting the final novel of what has been a rather awesome read. For anyone remotely interested in fantasy, i would highly recommend it. I'd even recommend it to those who haven't tried Fantasy yet but like a complex read, or those who have tried fantasy before but found it either too predictable or too orcs & goblins epic-questy. It's a wonderful mix of a dystopian look at the way society could go and a fantasy epic, with very well drawn characters.

I'm still reading A Game of Thrones. At around page 420 (smoke weed erry day) now. I'm still trying to figure out what the main obstacle is.
