Well, "Laughter" is the only book of Nabakov's that I've read. I thought the story itself was slow at first, but picked up and got interesting in the second half of the book. But the real reason Nabokov is a literary genius is because of the way he writes. He's a master wordsmith. So in that sense, it was absolutely fabulous.

One person I knew described "Laughter" as a poor man's "Lolita"...so you can take that how you see fit I suppose. I'm itching to read "Lolita" now just because "Laughter" was so good, but "Lolita" has received so many more great reviews. We'll see...

That was the last book series I finished reading... quite enjoyable. I haven't seen the movie yet though.

I'm in the middle of Less than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis

I'm either going to read American Psyco or Swarm next, maybe Island by Aldous Huxley

By the way it's really weird going from Brave New World to Less Than Zero =/

His previous book With Nails was excellent. A very self deprecating man.

The White Plague-Frank Herbert
Instead of Dune, where the characters were mainly there to help develop the settting, the setting is what develops the characters.

Without Feathers, Getting Even, and Side Effects by Woody Allen

Neuromancer by Wiliam Gibson. I'm still getting into it but I think it'll be a good 'un.

Before that I read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson and it was so ****ing good I recommend it if you're into Sci-Fi its very bad-ass and has cyberpunk elements and samurai sword fighting. What more could you want?

Oh yeah and sex.

Just finished Keep The Aspidistra Flying, and I gotta say, I wasn't terribly impressed. I'm starting to doubt whether Orwell has any other works besides 1984 worth reading :(
