That book is interesting. Kind of flawed in weird way but still good. I'll be curious to hear your take on it when you're finished.

Coincidentally, I'm currently reading a book that Achebe was famously critical of:

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
In the debate over whether or not this book is racist, I would it most certainly is, but mostly it's a product of it's time. It's still a great book so far.

I want to get into some Joseph Conrad books. Thought of starting with 'Lord Jim'.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

Hey guys, I'm looking for informative books on the psychology of anything from deja vu to schizophrenia, preferably interesting and entertaining reads. I'm just coming up with memoirs and textbooks in my searches, and those aren't exactly what I'm looking for. Psychology for pedestrians is what I'm after, really.

Just finished this. It was quite entertaining, really fantastic imagery. Nothing groundbreaking or terribly thought provoking but it was well written and a nice break from all the young adult books I've had to read for my job. =\ I'd definitely recommend it, it's an impressive debut and I look forward to more work from the author.

Not sure if I'd have any novels I could recommend, but I can give you a variety of interesting psychological subjects you've probably never heard of that are dead easy to understand and read up on if you want.

Anyway, I finished reading Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell today. It didn't affect my opinion seeing as I agreed with it anyway, but it was an enjoyable read and offered some real political insight.

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker. I haven't read much of his work but I did enjoy the movie Hellraiser which was based off this novella.

After finishing off The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker in a single sitting at the library, I started reading A Game of Thrones last night. I watched the HBO series first because I'm not that big on fantasy, but the universe intrigued me enough to grab a copy. So far I'm really enjoying it... like a lot. I haven't become this invested in a series after my first read since I got Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in '98.
