I was planning on reading The Last Seven Days Of Peter Crumb that i posted a few days ago, instead I have nearly finished this book about a boy whose life was blighted by physical and mental abuse by his parents in the 60's and 70's. It is a very uplifting read as Roche's eternal optimism shines a light amidst the gloom of his childhood.

Iv'e not been able to find that book for some reason, which is usually not the case when a book is made into a major motion picture. I was beginning to think that it was based on a different Cormac McCarthy novel

I read Guts online, pretty sick ****, but I don't see how you can faint from reading something...

I just finished "Dance, Dance, Dance" by Haruki Murakami. Pretty good, but something near the end sorta bugged me. Still, good stuff.

I got a book published by the NYT's from the 70's called "The New Deal" about FDR's adminstration and obviously the new deal.

I'm reading it just to find out what created such a strong unification behind the democratic party. Interestingly enough, it lead my to William F. Buckley who recently died but is possibly one of the more interesting figures in american public life.

The best thing i've picked up from it so far is that it takes great economic strife to make change happen. The way our economy is going, we're likely to have on coming real soon.

Scum of the Earth as some may be in their daily lives, they can all be saints in emergencies.
Hooray for firemen.''
