Wow. I'm kinda blown away. Is there anywhere one can buy posters of his work?

Do you know about the whole connection between those two books? How they're sort of alternate stories based on the same elements that were released at the same time? I love the way the original artwork for the two books, done by Mark Ryden, even fits together like a diptych:

Not really .. I believe the stories use some of the same characters, but that the two books are like paralell universes? What I know is pretty vague, but it sounds interesting.

I'm about to start reading it, rather. I read all of his books when they're out, as my mother gets all of them. Haven't picked this one up yet, but she says it's pretty good. We shall see.

That's the second book of the series, so I haven't gotten that far in, but I loved every second of it so far. Fantastic writing. 800 pages goes by in a breeze.

I'm about 70 pages into Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut. It's probably the strangest thing I've ever read.

I don't know if I'd really call it parallel universes. It's more like Steven King came up with a bunch of characters and ideas to build a story out of and wound up thinking of two different stories to tell that he couldn't decide between so he published both. The details are mostly the same but presented in totally different ways so that they tell two completely different stories. It's hard to explain, but it's very interesting to read the two of them back to back.

RE: The Stephen King Regulators and Desperation discussion:

If you read the Dark Tower series, it will all make sense. You'll realize that many, many, many more of his novels are "companion novels" than just those two.

I am...or kind of was reading Children of Men by pd james. It's not a bad book,it just hasn't taken hold. But I'm too far in to abandon it. I started it maybe last fall.
