It’s about the sort of people you only want to know through fiction. And even then you feel kind of guilty… Hope you have a dark sense of humor. :D |
I haven't been a fan of Stephen King's writing until this point. His Dark Tower series has met rave reviews from everyone I've talked to that has undertaken it. I can only say that having read a few chapters the quality of the writing is beyond the scope of anything I've seen from him before. This is great reading.

Yeah, 50 pages in and this is looking terribly ordinary so unless someone has some words of praise for the series/author I'll be moving on to greener pastures...absolutely no idea why they're comparing him to Douglas Adams...:\
Speaking of Douglas Adams and So long (pictured above), is it just me or did that book leave a lot of questions unanswered? I'm just reading through the wiki article on it and it says that "Earth is a replacement provided by the dolphins in their Save the Humans campaign"? Say what? |
Yeah, read Pnin by Nabokov in the meanwhile. It was extremely boring and utterly pointless. So very disappointed and discouraged to read more of his stuff...if anyone has any experience to the contrary (save for Lolita, which I love, and Pale fire, which I respect), do share...:(
