Funny you say that because I'm in the same boat! : x
I've only read a few of his books, but any time my friends talk something up, it gets pushed back in my mind as overrated. Terrible assumption, I know, but I can't help it! I got a chapter into Lamb and put it down because I had way too many expectations. It starts slow and is suppose to get better, but I'm lazy and have been under Kundera's spell. I'm a few pages shy of finishing The Farewell Party. Not as good as Unbearable, but still classic Kundera. Last edited by 333; 04-16-2009 at 03:14 AM. Reason: grammar :D |

recently finished reading a book of short stories by guy vanderhaeghe called man descending, was pretty good. been reading beyond good & evil by nietzsche on and off; reading trainspotting by irvine welsh now. all the first-person writing is written is scots, its not difficult to understand, it makes reading it pretty engaging. |
