oh low blow man.
don't get me wrong I love MAUS but it just doesn't give me my superhero boner that The Watchmen gives me. |
Yeah, I'm not a comic aficionado so I try to pick my reads outside the superhero arena. Maybe that's why I wasn't that enthusiastic about The Watchmen. :\

Makes sense.
I know a lot of kids who didn't like The Watchmen because it wasn't superhero enough. |

The bomb-Theodore Taylor it's a pretty good book.

I'm currently reading Watchmen but on the subject of Graphic novels, Y: The Last Man is an amazing one, which the director of Disturbia is creating a triology about to be aired next year. I hope.

I have recently been on a heavy non-fiction run, with my most recent aquisitionéfinish being David G Schwartz`s Roll the Bones: A History of Gambling. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg Very well written book, full of anecdotal stories, an unflinchingly honest study of the human fixation on chance and risk. Easy to read, with a flowing format that moves forward chronologically in a series of engrossingly well-written chapters. A book I highly recommend to any person with an interest in human nature and cultural trends/foibles. |
