Brazil is amazing and one of my all-time favourites. For me, it was definetly best on the second viewing. I like Terry Gilliam quite a lot .. His movie "The Fisher King" starring Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams is also amazing, often overlooked and underrated, I think.

1984 is one of my favorite books! The fact that the characters are, most certainly, somewhat flat not only allows a vaster population to identify with the character but also fits perfectly with the story. Of course the characters are flat; free thought is all but banned and personal expression is not allowed. How could anyone have any definitive characteristics in this situation? They don't think enough to understand who they really are.
Also, just started a book called This is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession. Looks to be a fascinating read so far. |

One interesting thing I recently noticed is that Johnathan Pryce, who stars also played Mr. Dark in "Something Wicked this Way Comes." by Mr. Bradbury.

Finished reading "Playing for Pizza" by John Grisham and I didn't like it. Thought it was a crime novel like his other books, but it's not. It's just a straight forward sports fiction about Italian football.
Just started "Flood Tide" by Clive Cussler and it's looking to be more promising. |

My favourite fantasy author by far and probably the 6th or 7th time I have read this particular one. My 'heavy' reading at the moment is this (for the 3rd time):
