^ you really should, I was really against e-books at first until I realised I could fit like a hundred on my tablet, and whenever I felt the urge to read a certain book I could just find it online.

debaserr 05-24-2012 10:27 PM

And it's really quite annoying to read a paper book, all the flipping and bending etc.

Sansa Stark 05-24-2012 10:29 PM

Yup, the only drawback is paper books don't run out of battery :/

Got this Rec from my Aunt. Kind of a Diary of Anne Frank type book. I'm huge on history, especially World War 2 history. Probably run through it after this weekend.

bob. 05-25-2012 03:40 PM

its a little hard to find and will cost a bit.....but it is a true and dreadful account of life in a concentration camp.....and well worth a read

everyone is telling me "wait till you get to Storm of Swords" :)

I just finished a book called Wittgenstein's Mistress by David Markson. It was amazing. But you do have to know some about Wittgenstein, well it is not a necessity but it brings the book up from great to amazing. Read some of his Tractatus. Then read this book. It was sheer genius.

A friend bought me the Game of Thrones books box set for my birthday. Going to start on that as soon as I finish these four that I'm reading currently:

It's a good read, but it's very long and sometimes a tad bit tedious. I keep getting distracted from it by other things. But I would definitely still recommend it. It gives an interesting point of view to the legend of Arthur.

Oh, I did forget though, that after the seventh Dark Tower book, and I have to go back and read the new one that just came out, Dark Tower 4.5 . So Game of Thrones will have to wait even longer. :/

bob. 05-29-2012 05:39 PM

i was just talking about 4.5 with some friends the other day

Arya Stark 05-29-2012 10:57 PM

Just about to start the second book of the Hunger Games trilogy because everyone is telling me it's worth it.
I don't know how much I can take of it, though, the first one was a little corny at times.

crash_override 05-30-2012 10:35 AM

Just finished:

The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson

http://jacketupload.macmillanusa.com...0765356147.jpg

An epic ending to the epic fantasy trilogy. 9/10

Currently reading:

Choke by Chuck Palahniuk

http://ohsonerdgasmic.files.wordpres...1/06/choke.jpg

Good so far. Seems like a short read. I'll report back when finished.

Sansa Stark 05-30-2012 10:38 AM

Choke is pretty good, I think Diary and Invisible Monsters are his best tho

I agree that Invisible Monsters is his best but I disliked Diary so much that it made me lose all interest in his books for a couple years.

Really? Why is that? I used to be really into his books, but they get really repetitive and predictable after a while.

Music Fanatic 05-30-2012 01:34 PM

i'm reading 2 books at a time , reading The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams.... and SIns of the Mother by Tara Hyland

Dr.Seussicide 05-30-2012 01:35 PM

Recently read the Hunger Games:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...nger_games.jpg

Which I absolutely loved. Never a dull moment really, and her descriptions are always vivid and enthralling. In comparison with the movie, I thought the movie was a brilliant attempt at the book. My only peeve, is that Katniss in the book, is very different from the Katniss they portrayed in the movie. As well as her relationship with Peeta. They left out some very important undertones I thought. But nonetheless, the movie was quite on par with the book. No complaints really from me in that department.

Now I'm reading this:

Does the Kindle Touch have the same shine-less screen appearance as the regular Kindle?
