Movie You Attended With The Smallest Audience

During a visit to New Orleans, Mrs. Drjohnrock and I attended a movie in the suburbs at a second run multiplex. It was a Friday and the start time was 5:00 PM. The film was a lightweight "comedy" called Nine Months, starring Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore. The only two attendees were Mrs. Drjohnrock and me. I don't know why more people weren't there. The 5:00 PM starting time when a lot of people would be just getting home from work or school and getting dinner? The fact that the movie was so lousy? Can't say for sure.

I'm interested in the responses of others. I started this same thread on a different message board. Some who responded said they were the only partron at the movie(s) in question.

Back in the early 90's, I was living in a town with a population of around 9 to 10 thousand people. The town had a movie theater which had two theaters inside so they could play two movies per showing. I went to see 'In the Line of Fire' on a weeknight at a 9pm showing at that theater when it was released in 1993 and I was the only person in attendance. I asked the usher if anyone else was in the other theater, watching the other movie and he said there was one other person over there, as well.

That's the only time I've seen a movie in a theater by myself. It was a strange but fun experience.

In the Line of Fire is so fun. My dad really liked it. John Malkovich being evil, Clint being cool... what's not to like... Will rewatch it tonight

went to see I Robot with my brother and we were the only ones there.

it was quite the odd experience, given we didn't have to be quiet while the movie was on.

Yes, it's definitely a different type of experience. Did you see it at a first run cinema?

That's pretty sad, the week it was released. I remember going to see the Chuck Berry bio the day it came out, early evening showing. The place was maybe 1/4th full.
