Danity Kane - Damaged - Lyrics Meaning

Danity Kane was created during the third season of "Making the Band," an MTV reality show. They achieved recognition as the first female group in Billboard history to have their first two albums debut at the top of the charts.

Sadly, the group was unable to capitalize on their success. Unable to figure out how to get along with each other, they disbanded in 2009.

"Damaged" was Danity Kane's first single off their second album "Welcome to the Dollhouse," which was released in January 2008. Written by Justin Walker, Sean Combs, and several others, the narrator in the song cautions a new love interest that she was hurt badly during a relationship with her former lover, and is going to need his help to get back onto the right love track:

Baby, baby this situation's driving me crazy

And I really want to be your lady

But the one before you left me so

Damaged...

In January 2008, "Damaged" was released on iTunes, where it quickly found a spot in their Top 100 downloads list, peaking at #1. In April 2009, it was still in the #90 spot, giving it a solid run of 16 months without leaving the iTunes charts.
