I don't see how calling it attention seeking behavior isn't just another form of speculation.

But my main point is that there are different ways you could word something like this that would get different types of results. Whether it's intentional or not, the way he worded it seemed engineered to provoke precisely this kind of speculation and attention. Someone who wanted to keep things low key and didn't want the attention likely wouldn't word it like that imo.

I don't think it's "not cool" I just think it invites exactly what I described. It could be he doesn't want to talk about it but he does want some amount of sympathy or concern for it. That's not even such a bad thing I'm just calling it how I see it.

Well, for context, as noted we've done some e-hanging away from this place in the past cause of our shared guitar styles and tastes in music.
When my wheels were coming off badly around here from the booze he reached out a couple times via PM.

Doesn't count for much but definitely something better than what was posted.
