Lightbulb Question Concerning Classic Music

I was wondering, I've noticed that there is a subsection for 60s Rock & R 'N' R, but there isn't a forum for a variety of old school music. Why not a forum for all kinds of old school?

We hardly have enough of an active userbase to merit the amount of granularity in forum sections we have as it is

Our soul/funk and electronica subforums look like

these days

Yeah, the right thing to do would be to merge some of these forums. So the answer to this question:

.. is it would largely remain inactive.

I see you're a new user (welcome btw) and probably don't know too much about MB yet, but the layout etc. of the forum is, unfortunately, beyond any active user's control. The site is owned by a company, Advameg, and they have a representative that checks in now and then who technically can make changes, but I don't think much (if anything) of substance has happened the last 10 years.

Even if someone here could change it, why would they? "Old school music" is not a genre.

Also, we don't know what he means by "old school music". Is he talking about Frank Sinatra? Elvis Presley? Louis Armstrong?

Since old school isn't a genre, one might assume that would make all the genre forums specific to music in those genres which is not old school and then everything old school (from various genres) goes into the old school forum.

So then f.ex. the classical music forum is for contemporary composers and the like.

Doesn't seem too tidy, though.
