Interesting (and rare) article dissecting the continued efforts to "cancel" Woody Allen.

I watched the documentary mid-way through the second half last night, and have to admit I was entirely convinced. Now that I've read the article (and thanks for posting it), I'll watch the doc again with fresh eyes but, again, it is VERY convincing.

Nice little legalistic rape apologia. I haven't seen the documentary that it uses to absolve Allen of his actions. I generally don't watch docs since they're inherently limited in order to be more compelling. Given how the writer of that article is so concerned with accurate reporting, you’d think they might ask themselves if the medium of the series played a role in its limitations, but apparently not.

I'm sure Dylan's used to getting dragged through the mud for speaking up about being molested by now, at least.

More than anyone else in the documentary, I found Dylan herself to be the most believeable. Also, the taped phone calls between Allen and Farrow really sink him to a newfound low in terms of his character, in my opinion. If anything, it appears that Farrow gave Allen too much the benefit of the doubt and too many second chances in the whole situation. Very sad for Dylan - and Soon-Yi as well for that matter.

Lawyers and media also then went on to intensely scrutinize her behaviour, presenting common childish traits as supposedly damning proof that Dylan couldn't provide a reliable statement. That combined with the accusations of her coming out because of jealousy or a desire for attention make the whole situation extra gross imo.

Police officer in Florida was fired for using the n-word

The Batlord 03-07-2021 09:15 AM

That's unbelievable. They got fired?

jwb 03-07-2021 06:19 PM

"Why did you say it, officer?"
"Because I'm a scorpion."

Lol I didn't read the article and jokingly thought that the only way a cop gets fired for saying the N-word is if he's black.

Cop was black yet his last name was White and he was using the n word as a proper slur and not a term of endearment

That is so Florida.
