Well yeah but that's extra expense and you have to buy it separately.

but to me that's not such a big deal. Usually means more storage for cheaper. Just back your **** up.

SSD is all about the speed though, particularly for Windows access. You wouldn't believe the difference once I replaced my old HDD with a small SSD.

right now I’m thinking I might be able to justify the expense next summer unless something else ****ed up happens

Wow! You write those on your phone? My respect for you just skyrocketed. I hate writing on my phone.

Is that an app? I can never find anything decent to use on the phone to write, for the few times I need to.

I know Plankton's a miracle worker, but come on: shipping to a city that doesn't even exist might be beyond even him!

For just a bit more you could have a much better machine. Just a thought. The Lenovo you're looking at seems decent though, and I've used Lenovo's exclusively for our RTD systems for a while, since they were dirt cheap as refurbished machines. I usually have a stack of them next to my desk.

Good luck in your search.

Excellent. Thanks

Okay well that's good enough. Sounds like a good deal. Lenovo are a respected make. Is it one of these that separates so you can use it as a tablet if you want? Not that important, just wondering.

No. Already have a tablet that (as noted) is a poor long form writing tool. Thanks

... Just bought a 256 GB one for about 30 bucks lol. Storage has become insanely cheap.

Yeah I know it's better to store your OS on but once again that's not a deal breaker to me personally. Yeah it boots faster but what else? My laptop is fast enough for what I need it for.

think it's just a standard feature of Google keyboard on Android.

I get you, but if OH says 300 dollars is his absolute limit and then buys one for that, he has to factor in an extra 30 dollars or so. May not make a difference, I'm just saying, it's extra.

Any program or app you install onto the SSD will run a lot faster too. Task-switching will be smoother, resources less dragged on.

Uh-huh. But what does it do?

He means in a computer sense, not a lifestyle sense, and in that he's right. If you've been struggling with your OS and getting from one tab to another or from one program to another, it will speed that up like you would not believe. Bootup time just rockets too.
