Here is a myth I Jason know.


Myth #1: If you call 911 or any other emergency phone number by mistake (accident) with no emergency you should hang up immediately.


Fact #1: False. Although yes it is true that accidentally calling 911 or any other emergency phone number without an emergency holds up an emergency line however if you hang up right away they will need to look for the phone number you called from to try and call you back which wastes even more time. Instead if without an emergency you call 911 or any other emergency phone number by mistake wait for someone to answer your call and admit (say truthfully) that you called the emergency phone number by accident and apologize (say sorry) for accidentally calling the emergency phone number without an emergency.
