yeah I'll admit i probably should've read the Wikipedia or whatever but maybe i do just want to believe... I still do basically think that even if Alex Jones is wrong in fact he's still right in spirit.

I mean let's just take it for granted none of them believe in the ritual... Like i said that's almost not even relevant to me it's the symbolism of what it represents to me that peaks my interest/creeps me out.

And the responses that symbolism is irrelevant and rituals never indicate anything about the people carrying them out is pretty silly to me.

If they pretended to rape a kid instead would you still be like "nah dude it's just like Burning Man" cause the more bizarre the ritual is the less that sort of defense is even remotely compelling.

The Cremation of Care is an annual ritual production written, produced, and performed by and for members of the Bohemian Club and staged at the Bohemian Grove near Monte Rio, California at a small artificial lake amid a private old-growth grove of Redwood trees.

The dramatic performance is presented on the first night of the annual encampment as an allegorical banishing of worldly cares for the club members and "to present symbolically the salvation of the trees by the club", but the secretive nature of the Bohemians and the political power of some of its members have been criticized.
Quote:
The ceremony involves the poling across a lake of a small boat containing an effigy of Care (called "Dull Care"). Dark, hooded figures receive from the ferryman the effigy which is placed on an altar, and, at the end of the ceremony, set on fire. This "cremation" symbolizes that members are banishing the "dull cares" of conscience. At the time the script was developed, the primary meaning of the word 'care' ("anxiety, anguish") was synonymous with 'worry', having more negative connotations than in modern times when it tends to be associated more positively with compassion.

The ceremony takes place in front of the Owl Shrine, a 40-foot (12 m) hollow owl statue made of concrete over steel supports. The moss- and lichen-covered statue simulates a natural rock formation, yet holds electrical and audio equipment within it. During the ceremony, a recording is used as the voice of The Owl. For many years the recorded voice was club guest Walter Cronkite. Music and pyrotechnics accompany the ritual for dramatic effect
Absolutely riddled with child sacrifice

So its not a mock child sacrifice it just looks like one? Why is this the preferred aesthetic of these people is my question... And supposedly a secretive one at that. You could be right though to be fair it sounds like my image of the ceremony was off.... But it still looks like this for whatever reason:

Because they're dumb, rich nerds? I'd go if I was rich. Getting drunk off my ass, dressing in druid robes, and burning ****? Sign me the **** up.

I'm not saying i wouldn't go as me, a random nobody on the internet just looking for a cool story

But if i was one of the rich people who actually participate, not just some one off guest, i don't think that would be my choice of hobby/social gathering

If the picture i posted looks like something you want in your life then i would suggest you compromise and just go to Catholic church. Or maybe in your case an eastern orthodox church.

First:
Racism much? Eastern christians don't act that much differently from the western ones.

Second:
I don't think that the Catholic Church has rituals in which you go into the middle of the wood, dress like druids and elves and burn stuff. In the Middle Ages? Maybe. Now? Um...nope

Third:
This ritual here is just like a simple spirit cleansing thing, with this weird aesthetic but around it.
All catholicism has to offer is being in fear of an entity which we can never. hope to understand. Their mainstream cleansing rituals are nothing more than "accepting there are greater things than you", if there is any idea still left in them. The Catholic Church isn't really an institution known for having original concepts and being true to their word.

On July 15, 2000, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his cameraman, Mike Hanson, infiltrated the Bohemian Grove and filmed the Cremation of Care ceremony with a hidden camera. The footage was the centerpiece of Jones' documentary Dark Secrets: Inside Bohemian Grove. Jones claimed that the Cremation of Care was an "ancient Canaanite, Luciferian, Babylon mystery religion ceremony".

The Grove and Jones' investigation were covered by Jon Ronson in Channel 4's four-part documentary Secret Rulers of the World. Ronson documented his view of the ritual in his book Them: Adventures with Extremists, writing: "My lasting impression was of an all-pervading sense of immaturity: the Elvis impersonators, the pseudo-pagan spooky rituals, the heavy drinking. These people might have reached the apex of their professions but emotionally they seemed trapped in their college years."
Hey, it's Jon Ronson, notorious psychopath expert! lol
