Something that I believe helped me was learning about the philosophy of critical thinking as part of my science background and that really appealed to me. So whatever I thought I was experiencing, I seldom bought into my worst fears. I always tried to battle it with rationality. In the end, the health anxiety had fizzled out, although that took many years, maybe 15 or so. The amount of years it was a powerful presence in my day to day life was much less. Now I no longer feel like that's part of who I am.

Yes, some physical exercise and a rational approach really help to keep our anxieties at bay, I think.
As covid drags on, with debates raging about masks/schools and vaccines, it's easy to lose sight of how things really stand. That's why this statistic surprised me: US covid deaths are averaging 1500 a day. Remember 9/11? That much-lamented death toll is now happening every 2 days in the US.

By the same token, we've had just over 5000 deaths in what a year and a half about? That means we've experienced less than four days of deaths over that period compared to America. Yes we're a smaller country but it still gives you an idea of what a mess things are in the US of A.

Luckily the Grand Canyon is the world's largest pre-dug mass grave.

Norway is relatively tiny country in terms of population with a count of roughly 5,33 million in 2019.
We have 823 covid deaths so far from 168 469 known cases which is about 0,48% mortality. The US has 40 866 998 confirmed cases with 666 608 deaths, so that's a mortality rate of about 1,63. So if you're in the US and get covid, it seems your chances of dying are quite a bit higher than they are here. (source = worldometers.info)
